Programming: Let’s Talk NYC Budget — Without the Boring Stuff!

Featuring Esteemed Guest Speakers NYC Comptroller Mark Levine, as well as Jan Mendez and Malek Al-Shammary from the New York City Independent Budget Office

Where does New York City’s money go? Who decides what gets funded? And how does the city budget affect our neighborhoods, schools, housing, public safety, transportation, and everyday services? Join the West Side Democrats on June 18th for an informative and engaging meeting as we break down New York City’s budget and what it means for our community.

We’re excited to welcome Jan Mendez and Malek Al-Shammary from the New York City Independent Budget Office, who will give a special presentation and help us better understand the numbers behind the decisions that shape our city. Come with your questions, your curiosity, and your community spirit! Join us for a timely and important conversation about New York City’s future. Because the city budget isn’t just numbers — it’s our neighborhoods, our services, and our priorities.

We are also pleased to announce that we will be welcoming Comptroller Mark Levine to provide his key insights into the City’s budgetary process!
